Famous Asian Gay Porn Legends

I'm excited to announce my new zine Famous Asian Gay Porn Legends, published by Doable Guys. This my personal tribute to the Asian Gay porn stars that inspired me during a period when Asian men were not being featured in mainstream media. I've selected twenty-eight performers to explore the history of the depiction of Asian men in gay porn films over the past 30 years. This is a companion project to my previous series Category: Asian Man which specifically explored the Asian models who performed for a specific studio.
Documenting the history of Asian gay porn performers means working against the grain of how this industry keeps records. Studios close, websites go dark, and performers who never used their real names leave behind thin paper trails. The primary databases used throughout this project are IAFD, StashDB, and the Gay Erotic Video Index, cross-referenced against archived blog coverage from sites like WayBig, QueerMeNow, and The Sword. Physical print sources were tracked down through collections at Auto Erotica SF, one of the last gay porn stores dealing in physical media, and through archive listings.
